France Légaré contributes to an article published in the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association (JAPhA)

France Légaré is co-author of a new article in the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association (JAPhA) entitled : "Exploring the role of teams and technology in patients' medication decision making". The study aimed to better understand how patients make decisions with their health care teams, how sources of health information influence decision making about their medications, and finally, how decision-making can be improved through the use of electronic health records (EHRs). The study reveals that pharmacists and physicians play different roles in helping patients in making decisions. Making EHRs accessible not only to health care providers but also to patients can provide a cohesive and clear context for making medication-related decisions. EHRs may facilitate clear communication, foster interprofessional understanding, and improve patient access to their health information. Future research should examine how to develop EHRs that are adaptive to user needs and desires.
