France Légaré contributes to article on online consumer health information in the Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology


This participatory systematic mixed studies review, published in the Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, is entitled: Health outcomes of online consumer health information: A systematic mixed studies review with framework synthesis. It discusses health information outcomes of Online Consumer Health Information (OCHI) in primary care. The authors developed a conceptual framework specifying four individual and one organizational level of OCHI outcomes, and including factors such as consumers' information needs and four interdependent contextual factors. This review will contribute to theoretical knowledge about OCHI health  outcomes, practical knowledge about information assessment methods, and tools to help consumers find and use health information.
