The 2018 Patient Advisors Network Conference Evaluation Report

This year-long study by the Patient Advisors Network surveyed patient and caregiver participants in healthcare conferences. Patients value networking, connecting and learning, but want to see more authentic and diverse engagement, including more patient involvement in planning conferences. By reducing the barriers of cost and travel logistics, more patients would attend which would reduce a sense of tokenism. This analysis will inform planning of events so patients and caregivers can more easily join in learning and networking alongside other participants. The next publication by the Patient Advisors Network will be Tip Sheets for conference organizers and for patient partners.
