Fifth Edition of the Choosing Wisely Annual Conference

There’s a fine line between what is necessary and unnecessary in health care. At “The Unnecessary Conference,” the nuanced ways that overuse permeates health care delivery and what people are doing about it will be explored. Each year, Choosing Wisely Canada, in collaboration with the Canadian Medical Association, brings together health professionals, patients, system leaders, and researchers from across the country to discuss and engage on topics related to overuse.

In this fifth edition of the Choosing Wisely National Annual Congress, a new dimension will be brought to the event. For the first time, the meeting will be a two-day event. This means double the keynote speakers, skills-based workshops, interactive breakout sessions, and networking opportunities. During this conference, Dr. Légaré and Simon Décary will give a workshop related to the theme.

The conference will take place on May 25 and 26, 2020 at the Shaw Center in Ottawa, Ontario, in order to find inspiration, learn from the experiences of other participants, and take part in a dynamic exchange of ideas on overuse in medicine. Click here to find out more.
