France Légaré Contributes to an Article on the Overuse of Head Computerized Tomography in Adults with Mild Traumatic Brain Injury
Authors sought to estimate the overuse of computed tomography (CT) scans among adults with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) in the emergency department of a single level II trauma center in Quebec. They performed a retrospective chart review of adults who visited the emergency department of Hôtel-Dieu de Lévis from 04/01/2016 to 03/31/2017. The results of their study reveal 26% of overuse. This findings will support local quality improvement initiatives to reduce unnecessary head CT scans for adults with mTBI. Read more
