Academic formation

  • After a doctoral degree in veterinary medicine, Amédé Gogovor completed postgraduate diplomas in bacteriology-virology at Université Cheikh Anta Diop (Senegal), in epidemiology at the Pasteur Institute / National Veterinary School of Alfort (ENVA), and in biostatistics and epidemiological research at Université Paris-Sud. In 2005, he completed a Masters in pharmaceutical sciences at the Université de Montréal, majoring in pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics, and a PhD in Experimental Medicine at McGill University.

Professional experience

Amédé interned with the Togo Ministry of Health’s Division of Epidemiology and with the Polio National Immunization Committee and their partners, including WHO, UNICEF and Rotary International, on three Anti-Polio National Immunization Day campaigns. After his Masters in pharmaceutical sciences (including an internship at the Sanofi-Aventis Health Economics and Health Outcomes Unit), he worked for the Health Management Research Group (Groupe de Recherche en Gestion Thérapeutique) as research project coordinator at Université de Montréal. Amédé later joined the Chronic Disease and Health Informatics Research Lab of Sara Ahmed, PhD, in 2008. He has also been involved in the Health Care in Canada (HCIC) Survey since 2007.
